The National Park of Paklenica is at the heart of Croatian rock climbing and is known as one of the top European rock climbing areas. Paklenica is a place of outstanding natural beauty, situated close to the sea near Starigrad-Paklenica.
There are about 590 well-equipped marked routes of different difficulty and length (from grade 3 to 8c), set in the carbonate rocks.. There is everything from single pitch sports routes to big wall rock climbing. Paklenica is ideal for everyone from the absolute beginner to the most experienced rock climber. With the exception of Anica kuk that generally faces north, the vast majority of the other crags face either east or west meaning you can always be climbing in the sun or shade, depending upon your preference.
Short itinerary:
09:00 – arrival to destination – entrance of NP Paklenica 09:15 – preparing for the trip and instructions 09:30 – starting the rock climbing session 11:30 – finishing the session 11:45 – returning the equipment and relaxing in the Park 12:00 – departure
Hiking
Hiking is the only way to truly get to know Paklenica. The Park area contains 150-200 km of trails and paths, from those characterized as tourist trails – leading from Velika Paklenica canyon to Manita peć cave, Lugarnica foresters house and Paklenica Mountain hut, to those characterized as hiking trails – leading to the highest peaks of the Velebit Mountain.
The hiking trails are available in all difficulty grades. When choosing a hiking route, especially multi day tours, you must consider a few facts that must be satisfied.
* available wellsprings on the way or in the area
* shelters or good camping places on the way
* weather forecast
All of that, and more, is for us to care. We are experienced mountain guides and this is indeed our second home area. Because of variety of trails, needs, wishes and physical conditions we do prefer a custom made tours and if possible a multy day as the beauty of morning silence and peace can not be explained by words.
